AI has hit the mainstream and hit it fast. The ease of use and the affordability to literally create anything from realistic, photos, videos, music, and so much more has entered the homes of creators alike. Things that people were never able to do before, are now easy to achieve with a few prompts thanks to AI. It's a great tool to have at your disposition.
My question of whether or not AI is wrong is a very subjective answer, depending on who you ask. For me personally, I use AI to generate beat videos that I wouldn't have been able to create a few years ago. I love it, as it has made my visuals stand out more than ever. It saves me time now, since I I don't have to learn traditional animation, or spend countless hours on editing original form videos.
Still the question remains, and without a doubt, AI has officially disrupted the creative ecosystem. As a musician, I would hate for AI to completely take over, rendering me useless to artists who can just generate a beat in under 5 minutes or drive music supervisors to turn to AI to generate music for film, tv, commercials or video games. This is something that I worry will happen in the future.
I wrote this blog, although I could've easily asked ChatGPT, because I still feel the need to be creative without the assistance of a learning machine. there's something to be said about still being able to do things on your own. Does this make me a hypocrite for still using AI for videos and not hiring an animator or learning After Effects? Am I doing the same thing that I fear will happen to the music space?
I really don't know how to answer those questions. What I do know is that if I am not using AI, I will be in the future as the vision is clear for what is happening as computer power and technology moves forward. The next few years are going to be interesting, and I hope the overuse of AI doesn't change humans and make us lazy to create original music and art.
